Deprecated single next-hop shared by all routes. It cannot describe a mixed-family (dual-stack) route set, so it is superseded by the per-family via_ip_v4 / via_ip_v6 below. It is still populated and honored so that a daemon and a plugin of mismatched versions keep routing single-family clusters: a plugin that does not understand the per-family fields reads this, and a plugin that does falls back to it when a family field is absent.
